LegaSea Aquarium Visit
Stopped by LegaSea Aquarium in Utica, Michigan and had a great time checking out the finished space in person. I had been a longtime fan of Brian Barczyk and followed a lot of the construction videos as LegaSea was being built, so it was especially cool finally seeing everything completed.
There is a surprising amount packed into the aquarium, with beautiful fish displays, some really unique reptiles, large custom habitats, and a huge gift shop. Short live animal presentations are also held throughout the day, and the tortoise races were a fun addition that gave the place a little more personality than a typical aquarium visit.
The Reptarium across the street is no longer open for general public admission and is currently used for private tours and parties, but LegaSea itself still gives reptile fans plenty to see in addition to the aquarium exhibits.
It was a fairly quick visit, but definitely a fun stop and especially interesting after having watched so much of the project come together online over the years.
